Bruno Mičetić has shown an affinity for music from a young age, which led him to enroll in a music school at the age of seven. He began performing in 2001 at the Jazz Young Hopefuls festival at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. He then attended various music summer workshops, such as the Berklee Summer School at Umbria Jazz Clinics, Jazz is Back in Grožnjan, and the Jazz Camp Kranj, which he attended for three consecutive years.

In 2004, he enrolled in the Jazz Department at Klagenfurt Landeskonservatorium, and during his studies, he organized the jazz quartet Seaside, which performed at various festivals, including the Jazz Tulum in 2004, Liburnia Jazz Festival in 2006, 2007, and 2008, Croatian Jazz Gathering in 2008, and Ljeto na Gradini in 2008. After completing his studies in Austria, he began teaching at the People’s University in Rijeka and started his own music school, Rijeka Guitar Center.

Along with his teaching work, he began collaborating with renowned musicians such as Primož Grašič, Ratko Divjak, and Joe Kaplowitz, with whom he performed at numerous festivals, including Jazz in Lapidarij (10th and 11th edition), the International Jazz Festival in Crikvenica in 2011 and 2012, Spring Time Osijek in 2010, Jazz Time Festival Rijeka in 2009 and 2010, Jazz in Sax in 2012, the Novi Jazz Festival in 2012, and many others. In addition to his jazz career, he has released three singles and a studio album with his rock band Keops for Croatia Records.

In 2013, he released his first studio jazz album, Phantoms Whisper, with his trio, consisting of Ratko Divjak and Joe Kaplowitz, featuring world-renowned jazz standards. The album was released by Dallas Records and received great reviews from critics and audiences alike. That same year, he performed on the main stages of major festivals in Croatia, such as the Liburnia Jazz Festival, Last Minute Open Jazz Festival – Bale Valle, River Jazz Festival, and Jazz Time Festival in Novi Sad.

The following year, he collaborated with the Belgrade-based Milan Petrović jazz quartet and performed at festivals in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Serbia, including the prestigious Nišville Jazz Festival. He also completed a very successful tour with his trio and performed with renowned world guitarist Dominic Miller (who played with Sting and Phil Collins).

The project of Mičetić-Ružić stands out among successful projects, which features drummer Dušan Kranjc and bassist Henry Radanović as guests. They have also released an album called “Fat Manager” under the Dallas Records label. Keops, Bruno’s main band, also released their second album “Lice sudbine” under the same label, with Bruno as the author of all the songs. That same year, Bruno also released another album with his Bruno Mičetić Trio called “Beauty of Your Soul”.

Bruno is the founder of the Rab Jazz Festival, which has been held since 2016. The following year, the Bruno Mičetić Sextet performed “Beauty of Your Soul” at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, which was recorded as a live CD and DVD by Dallas Records.

After the concert at Lisinski, Bruno collaborated with Croatian actress Renata Sabljak and performed several concerts in Croatia. In 2019, he released the album “Capturing the Moment” and performed with it at the HNK Ivana Pl. Zajc in Rijeka, as well as at numerous events and festivals in Croatia and beyond.

Since 2019, Bruno has been a member of the Croatian Association of Independent Artists, which allows him tax benefits when issuing invoices for his concerts. Last year, he released another studio album called “Out of the Shadow” under the Dallas Records label, which was promoted at the Koprivnica Jazz Festival, the Bjelovar Jazzica Festival, jazz evenings in Postojna, Omiš, Zagreb, Vukovar, and other festivals.

In 2021, Bruno launched a unique concert cycle called “Melodies of National Parks”, which started with a concert in the Risnjak National Park with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the Risnjak National Park. Over the years, he has collaborated with popular authors and performers such as Zrinka Tutić, Rajko Dujmić, Tereza Kesovija, Renata Sabljak, Ervin Baučić, and many others.

Project “Melodies of National Parks” evolved into a bigger one named “Guitars’ Dialogue”, an innovative musical project where electric and acoustic guitars engage in a harmonious conversation. The debut album, “Sonosphere,” explores the beauty of nature through captivating compositions which take listeners on a mesmerizing musical experience that transcends boundaries.

Bruno Mičetić continues to push the boundaries of musical expression through innovative projects and collaborations while bringing the essence of nature to his audiences.
